Doodle 4 Google

Welcome to Doodle 4 Google, a competition where we invite K-12 students to play around with our homepage logo and see what new designs they come up with. This year we're inviting U.S. kids to join in the doodling fun, around the intriguing theme "What I Wish for the World."

My sister Angelica entered the 'Doodle 4 Google' contest this year and we were notified on Friday that she is one of the 40 Regional Winners, and her drawing will be open to voting on the Doodle 4 Google website beginning tomorrow. We are so excited she has made it this far!!! Since she has reached this level of the competition, we know she will be going to New York in May for the National Finalists Ceremony. What a fabulous experience this has turned out to be!

The voting period is May 11-18, so we are asking friends and family to vote for Angel because she truly deserves to win the scholarship and opportunity to continue her talent (she inhereted it from her dad) and attend the college of her choice. Of course, you are free to vote for any doodle you like, but we would very much appreciate a vote for Angelica. :) We have been told that you can vote as many times as you want.
one of 400 State Finalists - apparently there was some confusion and we were a bit misguided as to how far she'd actually gone in the competition. Either way, she made it very far - only one of two to represent our entire state for her grade group! I'm sure she'll participate next year, to see if she can go even farther. :) She had a great doodle and I'm so proud of her!

This is Angel's doodle:

"My wish is for the Earth's natural beauty to bring out peace and happiness in the world. Natural beauty is expressed through the trees, vine, mountains and river. Peace is shown through my doves, symbol, and banner. Last but not least, the smile represents a univeral gesture of happiness."

We appreciate your support and we will keep you updated as to the outcome! :) Wish her luck!
