Playing in the Fire Hydrant River

I'm not exactly sure what they were doing, but someone from the city let the water run from the fire hydrant for about 15 minutes this afternoon. At first, it was a pretty strong rush of water, but after a little while it settled down, and I let Lorelai wade through the little river running down the side of the street.


She did NOT want to hold my hand, but the current was just a little too strong to let her go...

Her New Sandbox!

We finally broke down and bought her a sandbox, now that summer is on the way. If it wasn't for the sandbox, I think we'd still be out at the street playing in the fire hydrant river.

She took her shoe off before we got out of the truck and I didn't notice until we were already inside... notice how she is tapping her foot in the majority of these pictures. It's a new thing she does. She's so funny! And those pigtails... I just can't get enough of them!

No, it's not a coloring book, but she's coloring IN a book! :) Instead of saying, "No, Lorelai," I grabbed the camera instead. I'm amazed at the things I NEVER thought I'd let this child do.

The Marker Bandit

This child loves to play with markers! Thankfully, this incident was of the dry-erase variety and came off easily in the bath... I have yet to post the picture from her permanent marker experience. :)

Spring Fever

The weather is really starting to warm up around here! We went to Lowe's this weekend to get a start on our yard. Tonight, Shane kicked the week off with grilled steak for dinner. Lorelai had a blast hanging out on the deck with us, eating (and spilling) her grape, raisin, & strawberry fruit medley...
